Your responsibilities
  • - Arrange sales calls and meet with customers to sell our products/aftermarket parts/consumables, and services portfolio
  • - Act as the primary customer contact, build and maintain strong relationships, and be known for excellent customer service
  • - Develop and implement sales strategies to increase market share. Build/leverage value propositions and ROI cases to help differentiate FLSmidth from its competition
  • - Structure, promote and sell complex solutions.
  • - Collaborate with internal teams to maximize sales potential and draft proposals.
  • - Work with legal resources to negotiate terms and conditions
  • - Visit installation sites to consult with customers on equipment operations, replacement requirements and pending scope of work
  • - Maintain comprehensive account plans for our key accounts
  • - Manage expense account to keep costs in line with budgeted pod target while adhering to defined budget guidelines
  • - Complete regular entries and updates in CRM application to include contacts, appointments and opportunities.
Role Requirements:
  • - B.S. degree in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent industry experience) and 5+ years of experience selling in the mining industry or 5+ years’ experience working in a mineral assay laboratory
  • - Knowledge of sound sampling principals and mineral assay laboratory processes in the mining industry would be advantageous
  • - Proactive nature with effective communication & presentation skills and strong problem-solving abilities.  Ability to work autonomously, as needed
  • - Willingness and ability to identify and engage all levels of buying influences and ability to navigate our customer’s decision and buying process. 
  • - Ability and eagerness to travel 50% of time conducting visits to our customers’ mineral processing plants, mining laboratories and commercial laboratories. Travel would include frequent air travel and some road travel via FLSmidth-supplied vehicle(s), as needed 
  • - Reside in or near Salt Lake City, UT, USA and work out of FLSmidth Midvale offices (when not travelling on sales trips). Candidates should be USA citizens, or have valid status to be employed by a USA company.    
  • - Territory of coverage will be Western US and Western Canada, and others in the North American region as required from time to time. 
  • - Prior direct engagement and knowledge of these markets within this region, as well as with other industrial plants, is a plus
